Introduction to Arboricultural Rigging

Designed for apprentice arborists, tree workers, and groundworkers. This 2-day program focuses on safe working techniques and the components of a successful rigging plan. Introduction to Arboricultural Rigging is perfect for anyone who is beginning to dismantle trees with ropes on a regular basis or would like to know more as an occasional practitioner. Groundworker staff also benefit from this introductory program that focuses on traditional rigging techniques and friction management.

• Worksite and tree hazard assessment
• Rigging equipment selection and inspection
• Safe Working load limits and factors of safety
• Creating or selecting appropriate anchor points
• Calculating and minimizing shock load
• Cutting selection and sequence
• Friction management and lowering
• Forces, angles, and resultant vectors
• This program focuses on Negative or ‘Butt Hitch’ and tip tie rigging techniques
